Building Confidence Through Practice: Ada Computer Science and STEM SMART 

You'll explore how Ada Computer Science powers the Computer Science strand of the University of Cambridge's STEM SMART programme, supporting students through structured practice, expert teaching and meaningful feedback. You'll also hear how students across Scotland are using these resources to strengthen learning both inside and outside the classroom.

During the session, you'll:

  • Discover how the University of Cambridge's STEM SMART programme supports eligible students from underrepresented backgrounds to progress into STEM degrees

  • Learn how Ada Computer Science underpins the programme through interactive assignments, self-marking questions and expert-designed learning activities

  • Find out how structured practice and regular feedback help students develop confidence, resilience and stronger problem-solving skills

  • Explore the teacher tools and curriculum-aligned resources to support with National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Computing Science on Ada Computer Science, our free learning platform, developed in partnership with the University of Cambridge

Target Audience: Computing and computer science teachers for S2 to S6 students (Scotland) and for GCSE and A level students (England) aged 14 - 18.
